FIELD TRIALS NETWORK

In the Framework of the project, a valuable broadleaves field trials network is established in both Spain and France . These field trials have a double purpose:

• Experimental: development and evaluation of the adaptation of different species, tending techniques and management models

• Demonstrative: this field trials network constitutes a platform for demonstrative and technology transfer events and conferences aimed at forest owners, managers and technicians.

This field trials network is organized in accordance with the three work packages of the project:

• Work package A: Valuable broadleaves adaptation and ecology

  8 field trials composed of 12 vegetative materials each, in East Catalonia

• Work package B: Development and evaluation of more sustainable and environmental friendly techniques for plantation tending.

  Mixed trial: poplar and walnut (Spain)

  4-species mixed plantation, with different schemes (Spain)
